Since 1963, OAC has played a vital role in promoting and assisting the development of the arts and artists for the enjoyment and benefit of all Ontarians. In 2006-2007, OAC funded 1,224 individual artists and 867 organizations in 255 communities across the province. More than 50 OAC granting programs are available to artists and arts organizations. OAC also administers the selection process for several privately-funded awards, scholarships, grants and prizes.
